Culture shock refers to the emotional and physical reactions to an unfamiliar culture and environment. This is often one of the most common challenges that international student share when studying abroad. We will look at what causes culture shock, discuss its phases and share what steps you can take to turn it into a learning experience. Learning how to recognise and manage culture shock will make you a more resilient and adaptable person.
