Using a GLM to adjusting for confounding variables
-Examples :
-Caution: Adjustment is not always appropriate…
--- It can remove part of the effect you want to study
--- Eg Adjusting for weight when assessing breed
--- Choose variables to adjust for carefully!

Prediction using GLMs
-Aim: Predict an outcome as accurately as possible from a range of variables
--- objective now to form best prediction, not test individual variables
-Eg Predict calf birth weight from :
--- information on parents
--- information on farm
--- other factors
