Do you know the difference between a graduate job and a graduate programme? Is one better than another? In this live panel session employers will talk you through the different types of opportunities they offer and explain the advantages of each route to meet your career aims.

Stephen Wilson CEO Social Care Alba
Stephen has over 30 years of experience within Health and Social Care, having worked in the independent care sector, NHS and the Care Commission, before becoming CEO of Social Care Alba. He is a strong advocate for the social care sector, and is joining this panel to raise awareness of the many, varied and valuable career paths the social care sector can offer graduates. Stephen believes we should look beyond the fact that the entry level roles for these careers typically aren’t labelled “graduate roles”.
Katie Miller, Head of Communications & Engagement Skyrora
Katie is an experienced professional working in the UK space sector leading the communications and engagement departments at Skyrora. Katie gained a degree in Physical Geography at the University of Edinburgh in 2018 and went on to join Skyrora shortly thereafter. Her interest’s lie predominantly within the UK space sector, more specifically the crucial role that the space industry has to play in Earth observation, remote sensing, and the protection and restoration of our planet’s ecosystem. Skyrora have recruited many graduates from University of Edinburgh directly into graduate roles- not as part of a formal "graduate programme"
Amy McLaughlin, Human Resources, Aldi
After studying in Manchester Amy began her career in recruitment working within the FMCG sector recruiting senior appointments. Following this, she then moved into Internal Recruitment working with a global logistics company before joining ALDI in January 2021.
Amy works within the Graduate Recruitment & University Engagement strategy, which includes a variety of Placement roles as well as the ALDI Graduate Area manager scheme, voted 5 Best Graduate Employer in the Times Top 100.
