Interview with Peter Ranscombe, author of "Hare", an historical fiction novel that asks, what happened to Hare after William Burke was hanged in Edinburgh for mass murder in 1829.

This case study explores how a writer can use open resources in their research, and especially how open access to resources can benefit a writer's research process. Much of the work that Peter uses in his research comes from historical newspaper resources at the Scotsman, and through aggregated resources at the National Library of Scotland. The University of Edinburgh publishes open access resources as well as contributing to many aggregated resources in public libraries.
