In this video Philip describes his research and how the self-assembling
nanostructure of liquid crystals can be manipulated to form new and
inexpensive adaptive optical devices. The liquid crystal laser is
capable of wavelength-tuning and bespoke polychromatic emission, yet is
semi-disposable and thinner than a human hair.
