The Edinburgh Law School has a robust Visiting Scholars programme, which brings leading legal, socio-legal and criminological scholars from around the world to participate in the research activities in Edinburgh.
The Mason Institute was pleased to offer a lunchtime seminar with two current visiting fellows with interests in the ethical, legal, social and political implications and impacts of new technologies and practices in medicine and the life sciences.
Speakers included: Dr Ruth Stirton on "In search of a father: The legal challenges of undertaking paternity testing after death" and Mr James Lee on "‘Yearworth v North Bristol NHS Trust: Instrumentalism and Fictions in Property Law’, from E Waring, S Douglas and R Hickey (eds), Landmark Cases in Property Law (Oxford, Hart Publishing, forthcoming 2014)".
