My name is Claire and I'm based in the Internships and Work Experience Team at
the Career Service, I support with the Running of the Employ.ed on Campus
programme.

And in this video I'm going to share with you some background information about
the programme, talk about the benefits of the programme, share the 2024
programme timeline and highlight the eligibility criteria.

So what is the Employ.ed on Campus Internship Programme?

The Employ.ed on Campus programme is delivered by the Careers Service in
collaboration with departments and schools across the university.

The program has been running for 12 years and there are around 60 to 70
internships each year.

There are lots of benefits to taking part in Employ.ed on Campus programme, the
main one being that we, the internships and work experience team provide a
programme of support alongside your internship where we offer activities such
as an induction day, interim event and end of internship event to support you
with your development throughout the summer.

You'll also have the opportunity to complete an Edinburgh Award where you will
enhance your employability, develop yourself awareness by reflecting on your
progress and learn how to articulate your internship experience to future
employers.

All Employ.ed on Campus internships are paid.

They offer you a fantastic opportunity to get a better understanding of how the
university works and they allow you to build on your network too.

For the 2024 programme, there are some important dates for you to be aware of.

The first is the application date.

Applications will open on the 19th of February and will remain open until the
13th of March.

There may be a couple of internships that are advertised slightly later than
the 19th of February, so keep an eye out for these too.

Interviews for Employ.ed on Campus will be held in April and the start date for
all internships will be the 3rd of June.

There may be some internships where the dates slightly differ, so please read
the job advert carefully when you're applying for the role.

Before you apply for an Employ.ed on Campus internship, Please ensure that
you're eligible for the programme.

These internships are open to 2nd, 3rd and penultimate year undergraduate
students at the University of Edinburgh.

The internship program is not open to students who are on a distance learning
course or visiting the university on an exchange programme.

Please don't be disheartened if you're not eligible for the program as you can
find plenty of other internships and work experience opportunities on MyCareerHub.
