Late last year, the Intergovernmental
Panel on Climate Change released a report informing the world that there were
only 12 years remaining to make the changes necessary in order to avoid the
most severe effects of climate change.
A few months later in May, the
Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem
Services issued a wake-up call to the world with a report highlighting the
widespread damage humanity has inflicted to nature across every continent,
and the effects this will have to the global economy.
