Feeding a dogs
meals, once or twice a day from a food bowl, is really unnatural compared to how
free-roaming dogs find food and eat
Free-roaming
dogs will spend a large portion of their time, each day, looking for their food
(raiding rubbish bins, begging from humans, dead animals)
The act of
eating food is very rewarding, as is the act of finding food
Feeding a dog
from a bowl, means it has nothing to do from one meal to the next unless the
owner interacts with the dog, takes it a walk etc.
The dog in the
video took 1 minute and 21 seconds to eat its meal. It would spend a much
larger portion of its day sniffing out food, if it was free-roaming
Dogs are very
intelligent and feeding from a bowl is completely unchallenging
