Recording from a half day symposium which brought together archivists, researchers, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to explore how we collect, describe, and access information about the history of LGBTQ+ lives.
Using the Lothian Gay and Lesbian Switchboard and other UK based LGBTQ+ collections as examples we discussed how to balance making historically significant and rare collections accessible and respecting the need for confidentiality when dealing with sensitive material.
