Ava Khamseh graduated with a PhD in Theoretical Particle Physics, under the supervision of
Luigi Del Debbio
at the Higgs Centre, in 2017 (after also having been an undergraduate
degree in Physics at Edinburgh). After a year of postdoc in Prof Chris
Ponting’s lab, she became a Cross-Disciplinary Fellow (XDF) at the
Institute of Genetics and Cancer (IGC) at the University of Edinburgh.
She is currently a Lecturer in Biomedical Artificial Intelligence, joint
between the School of Informatics and IGC. Her research involves
designing experiments and developing causal mathematical, statistical
and machine learning methods for applications to cancer biology and
large-scale population biomedicine.
