This seminar took place online on 19th March 2021 as part of Italy by Design: Materiality, Intermediality and Commodification from Leonardo to the MAXXI (ELCI10036; ELCI11006).
The course looks at the art of cultural transmission working selectively on the material success of the invention of Italy in the last 500 years and combining key concepts in Material and Intermedial Studies with innovative practice-led course delivery formats.
This video illustrates our style of work as we stretch course contents from the Monday Labs (presentation of set readings) to the Wednesday Workouts (guest speaker events as part of the series Mini MAXXI: Radical Conversations on Material Culture) and the Friday Seminars (plenary debate based on discussion board feeds).
The unit Unsustainable Ctd (Venice Portfolio) took place in Week 9. Our guest speakers were Jane da Mosto (We are here Venice), Dan Finch-Race (Centre for the Humanities and Social Change, Ca Foscari), Emiliano Guaraldo (Centre for the Humanities and Social Change, Ca Foscari) and Eleonora Sovrani (We are here Venice).
The Autonomous Learning Goup in charge for the week was ALG3 Unsustainable Ctd co-led by Liza Gordon, Ophelia Jackson, Berit Levy-Weinstein, Zeynep Ulas, and Hazel Zhang.
