This short talk gives examples of single best answer (SBA) multiple choice questions (MCQs) and describes what MCQs can assess before explaining a simple stepwise approach to writing such questions. It then describes how to refine each component of the question i.e. the scenario, the lead-in question, and the options to make them as good as possible.
