The groundbreaking motor neurone disease clinical drugs
trial, MND-SMART, has now opened to participants in Tayside. This is the
trial’s second UK centre.
The trial will be based at the Clinical Research Centre at Ninewells
hospital in Dundee and will welcome participants to the trial from across the
NHS Tayside region.
Motor neurone disease (MND), also known as
amyotrophic lateral sclerosis or ALS, is a progressive condition that causes
muscle to waste away.
The University of Edinburgh is a charitable body, registered in Scotland, with registration number SC005336, VAT Registration Number GB 592 9507 00, and is acknowledged by the UK authorities as a “Recognised body” which has been granted degree awarding powers.
