This event took place online on 3rd March 2021 as part of the Mini MAXXI: Radical Conversation on Material Culture guest seminar series. The series is designed to turn COVID limitations on learning and knowledge exchange into innovative engagement opportunities for everyone. It is linked to the Italy by Design postgraduate course at the University of Edinburgh, but is open to all, and sits within the annual DELC research seminar series.

Giuliana Pieri is
Professor of Italian and Visual Culture and Head of the School of
Humanities at Royal Holloway. She is a Visual Arts and Cultural Studies
specialist, and is currently working on a project looking at the intersections
between the arts and the media in Italy in the 20th and 21st
centuries. As part of her talk, Giuliana discussed the artefactual materiality of the cult of Mussolini. The talk was followed by a Q&A.
