In her work as a gynacologist, Dr Jackie Maybin helps people whose menstrual bleeding is so heavy it affects their daily lives. In the lab she tries to understand what causes this heavy bleeding and looks for new and better treatments for her patients. Her work shows that what is typical for one person might be unusual for another. Jackie discusses what her and her team are learning about the causes of problematic periods and how talking about individual experiences is something we can all do to make periods more comfortable for all.
