As part of the University of Edinburgh's Staff Pride Network Research Seminar Series we welcome Dr Rachael Cofield PhD (they/them). They discuss their research on queer ephemeral placemaking in Atlanta, Georgia, undertaken during their PhD at Florida State University.
A bit more about Rachael:
"I'm a queer geographer writing about gentrification and queer life in the US South. Throughout the last decade I've been a convention organizer, an active LARPer, and a starving academic. In both academic and non-academic spaces I've sought to increase accessibility and promote inclusion. In my free time (a hypothetical notion, really) I enjoy traveling, tabletop gaming, and 'so-bad-it's-good' TV. Currently, I'm an active member of several AAG specialty groups and the Director of Programs & Operations of Larping in Color."
These seminars offer a fantastic opportunity to connect with others researching LGBTQ+ topics both within and outside the University of Edinburgh.
