The Fennell Forum: History and the Climate Crisis

This virtual forum explores the effect of climate change on the future study of history and, with data suggesting that the humanities are in crisis on both sides of the Atlantic, and how the role the humanities and history in particular, could play in the face of dramatic climate and environmental change.
Chaired by former Fennell Lecturer, Patrick Griffin, Madden-Hennebry Professor of History and Director of the Keough-Naughton Institute of Irish Studies at the University of Notre Dame, forum participants include academics from the School of History Classics and Archaeology - Dr Emily Brownell, Lecturer in Environmental History, Dr Sonia Tycko, soon-to-be Lecturer in Labour History at Edinburgh and presently Kinder Junior Research Fellow in Atlantic History at St Peter’s and the Rothermere American Institute at Oxford, and Sveinn Jóhannesson, Fennell Early Career Development Fellow in US History.
