It is commonly said that we know more about space than about our seas, but what about studying the ocean from space? Satellite data has been used for decades in land studies, but ocean observation is an emerging and exciting new adventure. The possibilities of marine monitoring from space are limitless: climate change, pollution, human health, coastal management, offshore renewable energy...
This talk will focus on how we can "see" ocean salinity and temperature at high resolution from a distance of nearly 800km.
