Three tidal turbines, developed under the Supergen-Marine UK Energy Research Centre (UKERC) and EPSRC funded X-Med project at The University of Edinburgh, are tested in FloWave Ocean Energy Research Facility on the King's Buildings campus. This project, conducted by The School of Engineering, developed  highly instrumented 1:15 scale tidal turbines to explore challenges such as wave induced extreme loading of blades and understand better complex array interactions of multiple devices.
