This topic primarily discusses the societal impact of Information
Theory, Signal Processing, Communication Theory, and Machine learning,
by considering some particular application areas, especially those which
rely on the fundamental and important fast Fourier Transform algorithm.
The applications chosen are intended to be familiar, but far from being
exhaustive. The topic considers how the performance of the solutions in
some applications have changed over the past couple of decades. The
purpose of this video is to further motivate the context of the course,
and to specifically look at processing and communications of signals
from sensors. The viewer is encouraged to continue the conversations
raised in this video, through the discussion board, or in hybrid
seminars.
