Wellbeing and Scientific Excellence (24th Nov 2020): Peggy
From Mary Cryan
How can we reach our scientific goals while leading a joyful life?
What can we learn from sport psychology and competitive athletics about endurance in academia? About dealing with rejection and frustration?
Could mindfulness techniques help you obtain a PhD?
Our Panel members were Dr Peggy Series (Neuroinformatics specialist, and track cyclist - winner of many national titles), Anne MacDonald (PhD student at Sport and Exercise, interested in Mindfulness) and Dr Tobias Grosser (Compilers and Runtime Systems, with a side interest in "Resilience" for Scientific Research).
Dr Mary Cryan of the Informatics Graduate School acted as chair.
The event was organised by the Informatics Graduate School, in conjunction with the EUSA Mental Health and Wellbeing, and took place on 24th November 2020.
