Wikipedia's new Content Translation tool is a Beta feature one can switch on in the preferences menu when logged into your Wikipedia account.
This tool allows the user to bring up an existing article from one language Wikipedia on one side of the screen and help translate it (often using machine translation) paragraph by paragraph to a different language Wikipedia. Thereby sharing open knowledge between languages simply and easily by copying all the relevant formatting across to the new article and allowing the translator to focus purely on making the translation as good as humanly possible.
While machine translation can be helpful in these situations, you will also be warned if you are using too much machine translation in your new article. In this way, translators can gain meaningful published practice and share their scholarship with the global open knowledge community for the common good.
