Bioinformatics In The Classroom With The 4273π Project, (Video 1 of 3) Context, Innovating With Open Knowledge
From Morna Simpson on August 29th, 2017
This case study features Heleen Plaisier and Daniel Barker Lecturers in Bioinformatics at the University of Edinburgh. They also run the 4273π Project which introduces school children to software for learning computational biology whilst at school.
This case study explores the use of open resources when teaching children in the classroom. It will be of particular interest to teachers who want to know more about the Raspberry Pi and how to introduce informatics to teaching in science subjects at school.
This video (1 of 3) gives a little background to the project. You can find out more about this project and arrange school visits through the website: http://4273pi.org/
There is a transcript and Activity Sheet to accompany this video.
