Russell Stannard presenting Key technologies that impact on our teaching and learning
Abstract:
Russell Stannard has more than 300,000 teacher visits each year to his website. He runs an on-going survey with teachers to find out the key technologies they are working with and how these technologies are impacting on teaching and learning. In this talk, Russell will highlight some of these key technologies with particular focus on feedback, the flipped classroom and other forms of blended learning. His talk will be full of practical examples focusing on simple-to-use technologies that can really impact on the way we teach and deliver our learning. Russell will also highlight some of the recent research he has done around these technologies.
Bio:
Russell is an Associate Trainer in the Norwich Institute for Language Education, where he tutors on the Masters in TESOL. He is the founder of www.teachertrainingvideos.com, a website that offers free step-by-step videos to help teachers incorporate technology into their teaching, and has won awards from the Times Higher Education, JISC, and the British Council (ELTons). Russell has focused on oral fluency, assessment, the Flipped Classroom and reflection. His work on feedback led to a TV appearance and featured in the National Student Forum annual report 2009. He writes for the English Teaching Professional and The Teacher Trainer.
