Microorganisms such as bacteria are everywhere on Earth's biosphere, including the human body, and will necessarily follow us as we explore space. As they play many important roles here on Earth they will be crucial to our survival in space.
In this talk Rosa Santomartino tells the story of the BioRock experiment, performed onboard the International Space Station in 2019, which allowed us to learn more about how microorganisms could help humans in the establishment of space settlements.
