This topic discusses signal decompositions by recalling the Fourier
series decomposition, and explaining how this can be used in finding
solutions to ordinary differential equations (ODEs) to an arbitrary
input. The Topic highlights a physical, albeit impractical, method for
synthesising a Fourier series. It then recalls a couple of classic
examples, such as the decomposition of a square wave and sawtooth wave.
