Assessing the
quality of the papers you find is as vital as finding them in the first place,
but how should you do this? This session will discuss some common tools for
appraising a paper, how to use them and how to choose the right one for your
review. A paper and appraisal checklist were sent out in advance as a practical example for group discussion (the discussion was not recorded):

Carver is a PhD student and former doctor. She has experience of conducting
evidence reviews in a range of flavours, garnered through working as a Research
Fellow at LSHTM, a Scientific Writer for the Scottish Government, and doing
rapid reviews for the CEBM in Oxford and UNCOVER in Edinburgh.
