This University of Edinburgh event was held on 24 November 2023 and focused on improving the representation of inspiring women online and celebrating the Central Library of Edinburgh's exhibition on "Witches in Word, not Deed".
Outline of guest talks and approximate timings below:- 12pm-12.15pm - Carolyn Sutton on creating the exhibition "Witches in Word, Not Deed" which remembers 13 women wrongly persecuted as witches through historically accurate and personalised dresses worn by empty forms, bringing attention to the loss of life and identity in which the witch trials resulted. Each dress is printed with words that were used against each of them in some form, or in the enduring legacy of folklore or other falsehoods that replaced their true stories.
- 12:15pm-12.30pm - Professor Julian Goodare on "Some Themes from the Exhibition" inc. accused witches Geillis Duncan, Margaret Barclay and Janet Cornfoot. Julian is Emeritus Professor of History at the University of Edinburgh and Project Director of the Survey of Scottish Witchcraft.

- 12:45pm-1pm - Ruby Imrie, 3rd year Computer Science student and our 3rd ‘Witchfinder General’: Data Visualisation intern, presenting on the latest developments on the Map of Accused Witches in Scotland site
